Heritage Dutch Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. sliced, pared, tart red apples
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
    1 c. flour
    1/2 c. soft butter
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    3/4 c. sugar
Preparation
    Combine apples, 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon in bowl. Mix well. Arrange apple mixture in pie shell. Combine flour and 3/4 cup sugar in bowl. Add some cinnamon if desired. Cut in butter with pastry blender or 2 knives until crumbly.
    Sprinkle crumbs over apples. Bake at 400\u00b0 for 50 minutes or until top is golden brown and apples are tender.
