Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cups sugar
    1 cup white corn syrup
    1 cup hot water
    2 tbsp butter or oleo
    1 tbsp vanilla
    Scant 1/4 tsp. Salt
    1 (12 oz) package raw peanuts
Preparation
    Cook to 300\u00b0.
    Cook until quite thick and slightly yellow in color, (300\u00b0) stirring occasionally.
    Turn off heat and add 2 tsp soda.
    Stir well. Then pour into shallow buttered pan.
    When cool, break into pieces.
