Egg Noodle Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 oz. pkg. egg noodles
    2 c. milk
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    4 eggs, separated
    1 1/4 tsp. lemon extract
Preparation
    Cook noodles until tender; drain. Add milk and let stand 45 minutes. Add half of the sugar, salt, lemon extract and lightly beaten yolks.
    Beat egg whites until very stiff.
    Beat in remaining sugar. Fold into first mixture.
    Pour into buttered mold and bake in a 325\u00b0 oven for
    1 hour.
    Serve with Yankee Doodle Sauce.
