Baby Ruth Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. light Karo syrup
    1 c. white sugar
    1 1/2 c. creamy peanut butter
    4 c. Rice Krispies
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch chips
Preparation
    Measure cereal and peanut butter in a large bowl.
    Measure syrup and sugar into a saucepan and bring to a full boil; immediately remove from heat.
    Pour over peanut butter and cereal; mix fast and well.
    (Pour directly on peanut butter to soften it for mixing.)
    Press into buttered 9 1/2 x 13-inch pan.
    Let cool. Melt chips in double boiler; spread as icing over mixture.
    Let icing cool, then cut into bars.
    Freezes well.
