Apple Butter Raisin-Nut Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. raisins
    1/4 c. apple juice
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    2 c. all-purpose flour, divided
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. ground cloves
    1/4 tsp. ground allspice
    1 c. apple butter
    1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
Preparation
    Combine raisins and apple juice, stirring well.
    Refrigerate several hours or overnight.
    Cream the shortening.
    Gradually add sugar, beating well.
    Add egg, mixing well.
    Combine 1 2/3 cups flour, soda, salt and spices.
    Add to creamed mixture alternately with apple butter, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
    Dredge nuts and raisins in remaining 1/3 cup flour; stir to coat well. Fold into batter.
    Spoon batter into pan.
    Grease a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Spoon batter into pan.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes.
    Cool slightly.
    Remove from pan and cool.
    Wrap in foil and keep in refrigerator.
