Pound Cake(1 - 2 - 3 - 4 Cake) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter or shortening or combination
2 c. sugar
3 c. plain flour
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. lemon flavoring
little salt
1 c. sour milk (buttermilk best)
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. pecans (optional)
Preparation

Cream sugar and butter.
Add one egg at a time; beat well. Add half milk and flour.
Beat well.
Add remaining milk, flour, salt and flavoring.
Bake about 1 hour at 300\u00b0; may take longer. Serve plain or frost with a boiled caramel icing.
