Apple Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. shortening
    1 slightly beaten egg yolk
    1/2 c. milk
    5 c. sliced peeled apples
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 slightly beaten egg white
Preparation
    Sift 2 cups flour and salt; cut in shortening.
    Mix egg yolk with milk; stir in flour mixture.
    Pat 1/2 of dough in pan.
    Cover with apples.
    Sprinkle sugar and flour over apples; dot with butter.
    Roll remaining dough; put on apples.
    Brush with egg white.
    Bake in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish for 45 minutes at 375\u00b0.
