Sawdust Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 large Jell-O, any flavor (orange or lemon best)
    8 oz. Cool Whip
    8 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
    20 oz. can pineapple, crushed (drain and save juice)
    1 bag mini marshmallows
    1/3 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 egg, beaten
Preparation
    Dissolve Jell-O in 2 cups boiling water.
    Add 1 cup cold water, pour into 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Add drained pineapple.
    Cover with marshmallows.
    Chill until set.
    In a saucepan combine beaten egg, sugar, cornstarch and 1 cup pineapple juice (can add water to make 1 cup, if not enough juice).
    Cook over medium heat until thick.
    Cool.
    Spread over Jell-O mixture.
    Mix Cool Whip and cream cheese.
    Spread over top of mixture and chill.
    Sprinkle 1 cup Cheddar cheese on top of Cool Whip and cream cheese mixture, if desired.
    Chill and serve, cut into squares.
