Chili - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
2 lb. ground beef or 1 lb. ground beef and 1 lb. ground turkey
2 large onions (1 if you aren't big on onions)
chili powder (lots)
dash of hot red pepper flakes (optional but recommended)
1 can tomatoes (optional; if in season, you can use 2 to 3 fresh tomatoes, peeled)
1 can kidney beans (optional)
2 cans tomato soup (a must)
Preparation
-
Brown ground meat and diced onions in big frypan that has a cover. (Make sure the pan will hold all the ingredients, including the soup and extra water.) Drain off extra fat, etc. from ground meat. Pour in optionals (including liquid from cans). Pour in tomato soup. Add 1 can of water if no optionals were used. Pour in lots of chili powder. Add a dash of dry red pepper if you choose. Cover pot. Put on low heat. Taste after 15 minutes to see if you have enough chili powder. If not, add more. If too hot, add a little water if you must. This is ready in 1/2 hour, but is better if you let it simmer.
