Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. white Karo syrup
    1/2 c. water
    2 c. Spanish peanuts
    walnut size ball \"real\" butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 heaping tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Boil sugar, Karo and water to 275\u00b0 (hard crack stage).
    Remove from heat.
    Add peanuts, butter and vanilla.
    Return to heat, stirring to 250\u00b0.
    Add soda; remove from heat.
    Stir to even consistency (frothy throughout).
    Pour immediately on greased cookie sheet; do not spread, just pour.
    Shake pan to evenly distribute.
