Broccoli Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. grated onion
    1/4 c. flour
    1 c. half and half
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 to 1/2 tsp. dried whole basil
    1/4 c. melted margarine
    1 c. milk
    2 c. chicken broth
    1/8 tsp. garlic powder
    2 c. chopped fresh broccoli
Preparation
    Saute onion in butter in a Dutch oven.
    Add flour, stirring until smooth.
    Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
    Gradually add milk, half and half and chicken broth.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring until the mixture is thickened and bubbly.
    Stir in salt, garlic powder and basil.
    Add broccoli, then cover and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes or until broccoli is tender.
