Butter Meltaways - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter (no substitutes), softened
    1/2 c. vegetable oil
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. confectioners sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/4 c. flour
    additional sugar
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    In mixing bowl, cream butter, oil and sugars.
    Add egg and vanilla.
    Combine flour, baking soda and cream of tartar; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
    Chill for several hours or overnight.
    Drop by rounded teaspoonful 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
    Flatten with a fork dipped in flour; sprinkle with sugar.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 13 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
    Makes about 4 dozen.
