Shrimp Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 large onions, peeled and sliced
    4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
    1 stick margarine
    2 c. boiling water
    3 c. milk
    1 lb. Velveeta cheese
    salt and pepper
    2 lb. green shrimp or 1 1/2 lb. cooked shrimp, shelled
Preparation
    Lightly cook the onions in butter.
    Add the potatoes and the water.
    Cook until tender.
    Season with salt and pepper.
    Melt the cheese in the milk in the top of a double boiler.
    Add the cheese mixture to the potato-onion-water mixture.
    Add the cooked shrimp; heat.
    This soup can be re-warmed nicely.
