1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sour cream
5 c. cake flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
Preparation

Cream shortening and eggs.
Add vanilla to sour cream.
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and soda; add alternately to sugar mixture and sour cream mixture.
Chill thoroughly.
Roll out on pastry cloth 1/4-inch thick.
Cut with large cookie cutter.
Sprinkle with sugar and press lightly.
Bake in oven at 375\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
Makes 100 (2 1/2-inch) cookies.
