Cheesy Mashed Potato Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 medium potatoes, peeled
    8 oz. cream cheese
    8 oz. dairy sour cream
    1/4 lb. butter
    dash of garlic salt
    dash of pepper (white)
    1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
    1 chopped green onion or chives (optional)
Preparation
    Cook potatoes until done; drain and mash.
    Add cream cheese, sour cream, butter, seasoning and onion; mix well.
    Pour into a buttered casserole dish and cover.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour. Remove cover last 15 minutes and put grated cheese on top.
    Return to oven until cheese is melted.
    Serves 8.
