Hoppin John - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. dried black-eyed peas, soaked in water overnight
1 c. organic brown rice
4 c. water or stock
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 Tbsp. olive oil
freshly grated pepper
1 tsp. salt
cumin powder to taste
Preparation

Combine peas and rice in saucepan with enough water or stock to cover. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 30 minutes.
