Cucumber Pickle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    75 small cucumbers, washed
    1 scant c. salt
    2 qt. water
    1 pkg. Eli Lilly & Co. slaked lime
    2 qt. vinegar
    1 qt. water
    4 Tbsp. mixed pickling spice
    2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Cover cucumbers with brine of salt, 2 quarts water and lime. Let stand overnight; drain.
    Cover with mixture of remaining ingredients; heat to boiling.
    Pack in hot jars.
    Fill jars with hot syrup.
    Seal.
