Cracklin Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cracklings
    3 c. Stivers best cornmeal
    1 large egg
    2 heaping Tbsp. Crisco shortening
    milk (approximately 2 c.)
Preparation
    Mix well the cornmeal, egg, Crisco and milk until smooth and damp consistency.
    Add cracklings and mix well.
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Grease large casserole dish (I use a large cast-iron skillet.)
    Pour mixture into dish and cook 40 minutes or until golden brown.
