Egg In A Hole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 slice bread
    1 egg
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Cut center out of slice of bread with a round cookie cutter or glass. Butter both sides of remaining bread, using about 1/2 tablespoon butter. Melt remaining tablespoon butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Brown one side of bread in skillet; turn bread over. Break egg into a small cup or saucer. Carefully slip it into the hole in the bread slice in the skillet. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook egg until white is set, then turn egg and bread over with spatula to brown other side.
