3 whole cloves
1/4 c. vinegar
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
pinch of salt
1/4 c. beet juice
1 can beets
1/4 c. water
Preparation

Cover 1 package of small dried lima beans with water.
Soak overnight; pour off water.
Cover again with fresh water; simmer until barely tender, about 15 to 20 minutes.
Pour off water.
