Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    20 to 25 pickling cucumbers
    1 qt. vinegar
    3 qt. water
    1 c. salt
Preparation
    Let cucumbers stand in cold water (slices, if desired).
    Bring other ingredients to a boil.
    Pack cucumbers cold into pint jar with 1 small blossom of dill, 1 clove garlic and pinch of alum on top.
    Pour hot liquid to fill; seal.
    Process about 10 minutes.
