Garden Supper Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cubed soft bread
    1/2 c. shredded Cheddar
    2 Tbsp. melted margarine
    1 c. frozen peas, cooked
    2 Tbsp. chopped onion
    3 Tbsp. margarine
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 c. cut up, cooked ham
    large tomato, sliced
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Mix bread cubes, cheese and 2 tablespoons margarine.
    Spread half the mixture in greased 1-quart casserole; top with peas.
    Cook and stir onion in 3 tablespoons margarine until onion is tender.
    Blend in flour and seasonings.
    Cook over low heat, stirring until mixture is bubbly.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in milk; heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute.
    Stir in meat.
    Pour this over peas. Arrange tomato slices on top and sprinkle with remaining bread mixture.
    Bake, uncovered, for 25 minutes.
    May use desired vegetable and/or meat.
