My Mom'S Dressing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 1/2 c. celery, chopped
    4 to 5 c. cornbread, crumbled
    2 c. dried bread crumbs
    3 (14 1/2 oz. each) cans chicken broth
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
    1/2 tsp. sage
Preparation
    Saute onion and celery in butter or margarine.
    Remove from heat.
    Add cornbread and bread crumbs.
    Add egg and seasonings. Add broth.
    Mixture will be watery.
    Pour into 9 x 13-inch casserole dish and bake at 400\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until top is brown and dressing doesn't wiggle when shaken.
    Don't overcook. Tastes even better rewarmed.
    Freezes well.
    Serves 10 to 12.
