Cream Caramels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. cream (I use half and half)
    1/2 c. chopped nuts (pecans)
Preparation
    Bring the ingredients to a boil, stirring constantly. Then stir in gradually 1 more cup of cream. Stir frequently as mixture begins to thicken, constantly as it darkens. Cook to 254\u00b0 (a little dropped into cold water forms a hard ball). Pour into buttered 7-inch square pan with 1/2 cup chopped nuts scattered over the bottom. When cold, cut into squares.
