Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 c. butter or oleo
4 eggs
2 tsp. grated orange rind
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
1 lb. dates
1 lb. pecans
1 lb. candy orange slices

Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs and other ingredients.
Mix well.
Add cut up dates, nuts and orange slices which have been dredged in part of flour.
Mix well.
Bake in well-greased stem or Bundt pan.
Bake over pan of water.
Bake slow at 250\u00b0 until done.
