Banana-Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening or oil
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 c. mashed ripe bananas
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cream shortening; gradually add sugar, beating well.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Add bananas and mix until smooth.
    Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture, stirring until just moistened.
    Stir in chopped pecans.
    Pour batter into a greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
    Cool in pan 10 minutes.
    Remove cake to wire rack to complete cooling.
    Yield: one 9-inch loaf.
