Lemon Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. vegetable shortening
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 stick margarine
    4 eggs
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. lemon extract
    1/2 tsp. soda dissolved in 1 Tbsp. hot water
Preparation
    Cream shortening and margarine together, blending well.
    Add sugar gradually and cream until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Sift flour and salt together and add alternately with buttermilk, mixing well.
    Add lemon extract and blend with mixer at lowest speed.
    Add soda and hot water.
    Pour into spout pan.
    Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325\u00b0.
