English Pastry For Meat Pies - cooking recipe

2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. hot water
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 egg yolk, unbeaten
Preparation

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Mix shortening and hot water together.
Add lemon juice and egg yolk.
Mix well and stir into flour mixture.
Press half of dough into pie plate. Fill with meat mixture.
Top with rest of dough.
Bake at 425\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
