    4 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
    3 pieces ginger, sliced 1/4-inch thick
    2 pieces dehydrated red chili
    3 oz. yellow rock sugar *
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. sweet bean sauce *
    1 1/2 pt. water
    2 pieces green onions
    8 pieces dried aniseed *
    1 tsp. baking soda
