Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. thinly sliced cucumbers
1 c. onion, cut up
1 c. green pepper, cut up
1 Tbsp. salt
2 c. sugar
1 c. white vinegar
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. mustard seed
1 tsp. turmeric
Preparation

Put salt on cucumbers, onion and pepper.
Let set 1 hour; drain well.
Mix remaining ingredients and pour over vegetables. Place in jars and refrigerate.
Ready to eat in 10 days, but flavor improves if left longer.
Can be kept for weeks.
Two and a half batches of syrup makes 1 gallon of pickles.
