Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1 c. chopped celery
    10 oz. frozen peas (uncooked)
    1/4 c. onion, chopped
    1 c. shredded carrots
    4 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
    1 small jar bacon bits
    4 oz. cheese, shredded
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Tear lettuce into small pieces.
    Layer ingredients in order in a large straight-sided glass bowl.
    Combine mayonnaise and sugar and spread over other ingredients.
    Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 4 hours.
    Garnish with bacon bits and grated Parmesan cheese.
