Ding Bats - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. dates
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. butter
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 c. water
    1 1/2 c. Rice Krispies
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. nuts
    1 (3 1/4 oz.) can coconut
Preparation
    Combine dates, sugar, butter and egg; stir. Add water. Cook for 10 minutes. Add Rice Krispies, vanilla and nuts. Cool and drop from a teaspoon into bowl of coconut; roll into small balls. Store in airtight container. Will keep for weeks. Very pretty for special occasions when the coconut is tinted.
