Layered Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1 c. celery, diced
    4 hard-cooked eggs, sliced
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, uncooked
    1/2 c. green pepper, diced
    1 sweet onion, diced
    8 slices bacon, fried crisp
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    4 oz. Cheddar cheese, grated
Preparation
    Tear lettuce into bite-size pieces and put into 9 x 12-inch glass dish.
    Layer rest of ingredients in order given.
    Add sugar with mayonnaise and spread over top like icing.
    Add grated cheese on top.
    Cover with foil or plastic wrap.
    Let set overnight or for 8 hours.
