Cinnamon Cucumber Rings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. cucumbers, seeded, peeled and sliced
    2 c. lime, mixed with 8 1/2 qt. water
    1 c. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. alum
    1 oz. red food color
    2 c. water
    2 c. vinegar
    10 c. sugar
    8 cinnamon sticks, broken
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. red hots
Preparation
    Bring syrup to a boil and pour over sliced, drained cucumbers. Let stand all night; then reheat and stand overnight again.
    Then pack in jars.
    Heat syrup to boiling and pour over filled jars and put 1 stick of cinnamon in jar before sealing.
