Buttermilk Puffs - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. oil
3/4 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1 egg
Preparation

Mix dry ingredients, then add oil, buttermilk and egg.
Beat until smooth. Heat enough oil for deep frying and drop dough by spoonfuls into hot oil. Cook until brown. Drain puffs on brown paper bag or paper towels. Ice with thin glaze; shake in powdered sugar or eat plain.
