Tortilla Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. olive oil
    1/3 c. diced onion
    1 tsp. minced garlic
    1 jalapeno, minced
    8 c. rich chicken stock (canned)
    1 c. fresh diced tomatoes
    1/2 c. tomato juice
    2 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 Tbsp. cumin
    2 tsp. oregano
    2 Tbsp. chopped cilantro
    corn tortilla chips
    Monterey Jack cheese, grated
Preparation
    Saute first 4 ingredients in a large saucepan until onions become transparent.
    Add next 6 ingredients and heat to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes.
    Add cilantro and simmer 5 minutes.
    To serve, place 2 tablespoons crumbled chips in individual bowls.
    Ladle in soup and top with a heaping tablespoon Monterey Jack cheese.
