Meringue Surprise - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 egg whites
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Combine egg whites, vanilla and salt; beat until stiff.
    Beat in sugar gradually until stiff and satiny.
    At Christmas, divide mixture into 2 parts and add red and green food coloring.
    Fold half of chocolate chips into each mixture.
    Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet.
    Bake 30 minutes at 300\u00b0.
