Apple Kuchen - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 eggs, separated
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. cornstarch
1/2 c. butter, softened
grated lemon rind from 1/2 lemon
2 lb. apples, peeled and sliced in quarters
powdered sugar
Preparation

Beat egg whites stiff; add sugar little by little.
Add egg yolks one by one.
Add lemon peel.
Sift flour and cornstarch together.
Add to egg-sugar mixture.
Add butter; mix thoroughly. Place dough in a well-buttered and floured 9 x 13-inch pan or two 9 x 9-inch pans.
Layer apples on dough, making a nice pattern. Bake at 350\u00b0 to 360\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
Sprinkle powdered sugar over top to serve.
