Glorified Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    4 c. flour
    1 c. shortening
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. molasses
    1 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 pinch salt
Preparation
    Mix first 4 ingredients well and remove 1 cup.
    Combine milk and vinegar.
    Combine all ingredients.
    Pour into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Cover with crumbs from removed 1 cup.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
    Test with a toothpick.
