Country Corn Fritters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/3 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1 c. corn oil
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 (17 oz.) can cream-style corn
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Mix corn and egg. Add to dry ingredients, stirring lightly.
    Heat corn oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    Drop batter by tablespoons into hot corn oil, one layer at a time. Fry about 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
    Makes 16 fritters.
