Porcupine Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 medium onions
    2 green peppers
    1 lb. hamburger
    1 c. uncooked rice
    1/2 c. cracker crumbs
    1 small can tomato puree
    salt
    flour
    butter
Preparation
    Grind onions and peppers.
    Add hamburger, uncooked rice, cracker crumbs, tomato puree and salt to taste.
    Make into balls. Roll in flour.
    Brown in butter in a pan that has a lid that fits well.
    Fill pan 1/2 full with water and let simmer for an hour over a very low flame.
    The rice bursts out of the balls, giving the appearance of porcupine.
    Garnish with the tomato puree.
