Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. quick oats
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1 tsp. soda
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix oats, boiling water and soda; let stand for 20 minutes. Cream together shortening and sugars.
    Add eggs and beat well. Add oats mixture.
    Add dry ingredients and mix well.
    Bake in greased 13 x 9-inch pans.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes. Cool and frost with following frosting.
