Irish Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. white flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. sugar
3 Tbsp. vegetable shortening or butter
2/3 c. milk
1/2 c. raisins
1 Tbsp. caraway seed
Preparation

Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
Grease 9-inch round loaf pan.
Put the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a large bowl.
Work in the shortening with a pastry blender, then quickly stir in milk.
Add the raisins and caraway seed, stirring just enough to distribute them evenly.
Turn out onto a lightly floured board and knead about 20 times.
Put the dough in the pan and bake for 20 to 30 minutes. Cut into wedges and serve.
