Ingredients

2/3 c. whole wheat flour
2/3 c. white flour
3/4 c. bran
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
2 eggs, separated
1/3 c. packed brown sugar
1/3 c. butter, melted
1/2 to 1 c. chopped nuts
1 1/2 to 2 c. milk or buttermilk
Preparation

Combine all dry ingredients/nuts.
With fork, beat egg yolks and brown sugar together until crumbly and yellow colored.
Beat egg whites to stiff peaks stage.
