Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 head lettuce, shredded
    1 c. celery, chopped
    1 c. bell pepper, chopped
    1 c. onion, chopped
    2 c. English peas (frozen)
    1 1/2 c. mayonnaise, whipped smooth
    1 c. American cheese, grated
    4 slices bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
Preparation
    Layer vegetables in order listed in a 2-quart bowl.
    Sprinkle on sugar.
    Spread mayonnaise evenly on top to seal.
    Place sealed wrap over top tightly.
    May be stored in refrigerator up to three days.
    When ready to serve, sprinkle cheese, then bacon on top. Yields 4 to 6 servings.
