Anne Martin'S Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 c. flour
    1/2 c. Crisco
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    5 egg whites (unbeaten)
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
Preparation
    Sift flour and cream of tartar together.
    Cream sugar and Crisco well and add eggs, flour and buttermilk alternately.
    Put soda in 1 1/2 teaspoons warm water when you start the cake.
    Let set until cake is mixed and add.
    Cook for 1 hour at 325\u00b0.
