Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1 c. quick cooking oats
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 1/3 c. flour
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. nuts, finely chopped
Preparation
    Put oats in boiling water.
    Let stand 15 minutes.
    Meanwhile, combine sugar, flour, shortening, eggs, salt, soda and baking powder.
    Mix well on lowest speed of mixer.
    Add vanilla, nuts, cinnamon and oats.
    Mix well.
    Bake in a 9 x 14 x 2-inch pan in a 350\u00b0 oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until tests done.
    Top with following icing.
