Ingredients

2 1/4 c. self-rising flour
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. shortening
pecans or walnuts
1 bag chocolate chips
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

In large bowl, combine the first 3 ingredients. Cut in shortening until crumbly. Stir in nuts or your choice and chocolate chips. In a separate bowl, beat eggs and vanilla together, then stir in cookie dough. Mix until blended (if dough is too dry, add 1 or 2 tablespoons of water). Shape by teaspoonfuls into round, flat ball. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 9 minutes. Let cool. Makes 2 1/2 to 3 dozen cookies.
