Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    3/4 c. flour
    3/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 to 4 apples, peeled and sliced
Preparation
    Cream butter with the sugar; add eggs.
    Stir in flour, baking powder and vanilla; mix well.
    Spread half of dough in an 8 x 8-inch greased pan.
    Cover with rows of apple slices; top with remainder of dough and spread as well as possible.
    Dough is soft and will cover apples while baking.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes. Cool and spread with thin icing.
