Golden Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 lb. candied cherries
1/2 lb. candied pineapple
1 c. chopped dates
3/4 c. coconut
1 1/2 c. golden raisins
1 c. chopped pecans
1/2 lb. candied citron
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 c. plain flour
2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sweet milk
1/2 tsp. almond extract
4 egg whites, stiffly beaten but not dry
Preparation

Chop and dredge all fruits and nuts with flour.
Cream together shortening and sugar.
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture with sweet milk. Add almond extract, fold in dredged fruit and nuts.
Fold in carefully, egg whites.
Pour into greased 10-inch Bundt pan.
Bake 2 hours at 275\u00b0.
